No amount of time can ever really assuage the loss, but it has been nearly a year and I can write without tears steaming down my face.

Victorino, talked about his art project to commemorate the 1992 International Ecology Conference as his means to healing after the passing of his youngest daughter, 15 year old Monique.

In 2008 I showed you photos of the damage after the second of two fires within 12 months.

Today I report to you the passing of his youngest son, Ricardo Alves Boechat May 7, 1966 - June 8, 2009.

Victorino has been busy restoring paintings and planning two small shows this spring. One will be paintings thematically organized around artists. Perhaps my favorite is Pygmalion. The other show will be paintings of Maids, Matrons and Matriarchs. Many images will be familiar from his web site, but all are essentially new paintings.

We hope that you will support Victorino and visit both shows this May and June in Ridgewood, NJ.
